HIPPY

Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is a free two year, home based early learning program that empowers parents and carers as their child’s first teacher

The HIPPY approach is supported by research that shows children’s earliest and most powerful learning comes from their family, and that getting a strong transition to school sets children up success in learning throughout life.

Families start HIPPY when their child is 3 years old, or turning 3 years old before 1 July. Families then continue into the second year of HIPPY when their child is 4 years old (and in preschool). HIPPY supports parents to deliver a structured 60-week curriculum of learning activities, designed to support children’s transition to school and develop a love of learning which will last a lifetime.

Activities and storybooks are fun and educational, and are aligned to the Australian Early Years Framework and National Quality Standards (NQS).
