Keeping you updated on all the happenings at the Child and Parent Centre Carey Park
The second of 16 new Child and Parent Centres designed to support families with young children in vulnerable communities around WA was officially opened in Bunbury late last month.
The $1.15 million new Child and Parent Centre at Carey Park Primary School provides services such as child health checks, children’s activities and parenting classes.
The Department’s Executive Director of Early Childhood Education, Garry Hewitt, said parents could visit the centre and get support to help their young children in the lead up to starting school.
The Child and Parent Centre Carey Park is run by non-government organisation Investing in Our Youth.
Executive Officer Carmen Gregg said that it was important to support parents, as they were children’s first teachers.
